Big Mouth - Limited Edition Fine Art Print | Theodora Songhai

from £45.00

A limited edition fine art print from Flight, the debut collection of Edinburgh-based artist, writer, and theologian Theodora Songhai.

Each print is produced on Hahnemühle Agave 290gsm - a textured, eco-friendly fine art paper made from agave plant fibres, chosen for the way its surface echoes the layered, tactile quality of Songhai's original collages. Prints are bordered, mounted, and wrapped in biodegradable packaging.

Every print includes an Art Sure Certificate of Authenticity from The Fine Art Trade Guild, an embossed studio stamp, and is hand-signed and numbered by the artist. Edition size: 50.

These works were made in 2022–2023 during a period of homelessness in London - with scissors, glue, and magazines, on a futon, in a friend's study. They are small in scale by design: a deliberate political statement about who gets to make art, and under what conditions.

Shipping: Ships from London. UK delivery only at this time.

Big MouthThis piece is about taking up space — at a time when Songhai felt she could do neither. The crow stands its ground. The mouth is open. The word REBEL sits in the red. Made when speaking felt impossible, this collage became the means by which she could, at least in image, do both. It is an expression of desire and hope as much as a statement of intent.
